Church Leadership

Jesus spent the majority of the time during the weeks before his death and resurrection investing in the next generation of leaders for the church, knowing full well how important leadership is in the body of Christ.

As we look at the apostle Paul writes about leadership in 1 Corinthians chapters 1-5, we learn that a church leader’s primary responsibility is to help others follow and focus on Jesus, not themselves. And in order to help others follow Jesus, a leader must be following Jesus themselves. They have a prayer life worth imitating. They are willing to suffer for the sake of Jesus and allow their weaknesses to be put on display so that others can see Jesus more clearly.

This week, we presented to our church with two leaders in our church who we’d want to invite to join us on our pastoral council, Kevin Monaghan and Sloane Dameron. While we are not a “voting church,” your voice is important as we make this transition, and we’d love to hear your thoughts. If you’d like to either affirm the decision or express any concerns, please email rich@conshohockenvineyard.com.
