God As King | Spring Cleaning the Soul

Apr 13, 2025    Rich Andrews

On Palm Sunday, we welcomed King Jesus—not with rituals or routine, but with surrendered hearts. Pastor Rich shared from 1 Kings 15, where King Asa cleansed the land of idolatry, removed generational sin, and restored the treasures of the temple. Like Asa, we’re invited to clean out our lives so God’s presence can dwell more fully within us.

Jesus modeled this during Holy Week by cleansing the temple—overturning tables and making space for prayer. When we hold onto idols like greed, impurity, or false priorities, we dim our witness and lose the peace and joy meant for us. This week, allow God to search your heart. What’s cluttering your soul? Jesus didn’t just come to forgive our sins—He came to free us from everything that gets in the way of God’s presence.
