God As King | The Danger of Deception

This week, we explored the story in 2 Samuel 15 of Absalom’s rebellion against King David and the dangers of deception. Absalom used manipulation, flattery, and false promises to steal the hearts of Israel, ultimately leading to division and betrayal. His story warns us to remain discerning, guarding our hearts against those who seek influence for their own gain. Jesus calls us in a different way—one of truth, humility, and complete surrender to Him as King. Like David’s loyal follower Ittai, may we commit wholeheartedly to Christ, saying, “Wherever my Lord the King may be, there your servant will be.”
